Brick Beach, Ortley Beach, and 20th St Beach in Ship Bottom

Join OCCC with free skin cancer screenings will be held at three (3) Ocean County beach locations:    Brick (North), Ortley Beach (Central), and Ship Bottom (South). Learn about skin cancer, sun safety and the importance of continuous skin protection and early detection. The program’s goals are to educate the Ocean County community and tourists about skin cancer prevention, sun safety, and at the same time promote early detection of skin cancer.

October is Pretty In Pink Month

The Ocean County Cancer Coalition provides direct financial assistance to local community groups and organizations to develop and implement breast cancer-related projects.  These countywide projects are created through partnerships and provide breast cancer advocacy, education and awareness programs.  All organizations are active members of the Coalition’s Breast Cancer Workgroup.  Over 600 women are anticipated to take part in these events.

Join Ocean County Cancer Coalition and Soroptimist International of Toms River for a special evening, which will provide support and information to breast cancer survivors and co-survivors. Address your body, mind, and spiritual needs with a female medical Oncologist, breast cancer survivors, and health professionals. Find out how yoga, exercise, and guided imagery can benefit you body, mind, and spirit.

Skin Cancer Screening Event

Programs By Appointment

Metastasis/Recurrent Breast and Ovarian Cancer Support Group is for women with recurrent metastastic cervical, endometrial, or uterine cancer.  Please call 800-560-9990 for an appointment.

Young People Have Feelings Too is for children ages 4-18 years who have a family member with cancer.  Please call 888-528-8314 for an appointment.

Coping with Chemotherapy.  Please call 732-776-2346 for an appointment.

 

Breast Cancer Support Group

Co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society

This support group runs in 6-week sessions.  The groups are held on Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the JSMC Ambulatory Care Center-Cancer Conference Room.  Please call 800-560-9990 for dates.


Colo-Rectal and Other Digestive Cancers Support Group

Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month.  The meetings are held in the Community Room in the atrium of Ocean Medical Center.  There is no fee, but registration is required.  Please call 1-800-560-9990 for more information and to register for this group.
